25th February 2005 - In celebrating its 117th Anniversary, Lee Kum Kee's production plant in Qibao, Xinhui, Guangdong Province, with a total plant size of 1.13 million square meters, marks the impending growth of Lee Kum Kee's sauces and condiments as well as health products.

The total investments in Lee Kum Kee's Xinhui production plant, for both sauces and condiments; and health products amounted to RMB 500 million. With sizeable operations and the state-of-the art technology, this plant leads the food industry in China and is known as the largest production facility of its kind in the country.

Currently the Xinhui production plant is the Lee Kum Kee Group's largest plant worldwide, comprising Lee Kum Kee (Xinhui) Food Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Nanfang Lee Kum Kee Health Products Co., Ltd.

Established in 1888 by Mr. Lee Kum Sheung, Lee Kum Kee began to manufacture oyster sauce in Nanshui, Zhuhai, Guangdong. As a national enterprise with rich heritage, the current Group Chairman is Mr. M.T. Lee. After hundred years of dedicated efforts, Lee Kum Kee has become a leader of authentic Chinese sauces with a marketing and distribution network in more than 80 countries and regions around the world.

Lee Kum Kee has successfully achieved its first mission: "Promoting Chinese cuisine worldwide" and "Where there are Chinese people, there are Lee Kum Kee products". In recognition of its enormous contributions and relentless efforts, Lee Kum Kee has won a lot of local and international awards over the years.

Lee Kum Kee's second mission is "Modernization and promotion of Traditional Chinese herbal health products to the people around the world", and is now on the right track.

The Xinhui Plant of Guangdong Nanfang Lee Kum Kee Health Products Co., Ltd. introduced the advanced extraction and concentration technology. The Xinhui Plant meets the stringent requirements of health food GMP standard. Among all the tonic product manufacturers in China, Nanfang Lee Kum Kee's Xinhui Plant has installed its own invented China's first high-speed glass-bottling tonic product production line in accordance with the rules of health food GMP standard.

The Opening Ceremony of Guangdong Nanfang Lee Kum Kee Health Products Co., Ltd. Xinhui Plant and the Lee Man Tat Secondary School Jubilee Gymnasium and Swimming Pool, funded by the five children of Mr. and Mrs. M.T. Lee, are held on 26th February 2005, respectively. The Lee Kum Kee 117th Anniversary Gala Evening is organized in the Xinhui Stadium with attendance of over 8,000 guests.
