December 7, 2004 - Hong Kong. "The 5th World Champion of Chinese Cuisine", held in Guangzhou Cultural Park, China from November 18 - 21, attracted hundreds of Chinese Cuisine Chefs from all over the world. Lee Kum Kee, the main sauce sponsor of the competition, displayed a wide range of products in the exhibition and invited famous chefs to conduct cooking demonstrations.

"The 5th World Champion of Chinese Cuisine" is an advanced Chinese Cuisine Competition conducted every four years. This year's competition, organized by the World Association of Chinese Cuisine (WACC) and Guangzhou Government, attracted some 520 Chinese Cuisine Chefs from over 20 countries and regions. These enthusiastic participants competed in a wide range of categories including Hot Dish, Noodles and Snacks, Cold Dishes and Food Sculpture. Lee Kum Kee is dedicated to promoting Chinese Cuisine and fusing the eating cultures of the East and West. The company is therefore fully supportive of WACC in its efforts to promote Chinese food culture and improve the art of cooking all over the world.

Lee Kum Kee set up an over 80m2 booth in the exhibition venue and invited ten famous chefs to demonstrate their cooking skills and splendid dishes using Lee Kum Kee sauces. These included Martin Yan, famous host of international TV cook show, and other Chief Executive Chefs of Hong Kong and Macau chain restaurants. The participating chefs highly affirmed that Lee Kum Kee products could ensure food quality as well as guarantee the taste and colour of the dishes.

On November 19, Lee Kum Kee organized a welcoming dinner for over 300 guests including the Chairman of the World Association of Chinese Cuisine and the China Cuisine Association, and representatives from overseas cuisines association and chefs.

In addition, Lee Kum Kee participated in the "18th Guangzhou International Food Expo" at the Cultural Park from November 22 - 28 to exhibit a wide range of products and to introduce different value packs, food tasting and games. Over 10,000 people crowded the Lee Kum Kee booth everyday.
